STORE Economy
How the STORE economy actually works.
STORE is the network's unit of account and settlement layer — not a currency or stablecoin, and not meant to be used on its own.
Flow
How a transaction moves through the network
- 1
Customer
A developer or business requests compute, GPU, storage, or bandwidth.
- 2
Hamilton AI prices it
The oracle network prices and verifies the request in STORE.
- 3
Settlement
The transaction settles through STORE's economic system.
- 4
Operator paid
The infrastructure operator is paid a stated margin — STORE's own materials describe this as a 25% margin above the operator's infrastructure cost (the "WEC margin"), paid to the operator, not the protocol.
The token
Token functions
Unit of account
Every price on the network — compute, storage, bandwidth — is denominated in STORE.
Settlement
Transactions on the network settle in STORE.
Reward distribution
Governance rewards and protocol distributions pay out in STORE.
Governance weight
Holding enough STORE to register as a governor gives you a vote — capped at one-third of the network, no matter how much you hold.
What isn't publicly specified
STORE's public materials confirm the operator's 25% margin and a separate 5% fee on TREASURIES yield once that product launches. They do not state whether the protocol itself captures a fee on ordinary compute, storage, or bandwidth transactions. This page does not claim it does — that isn't something the public materials support.
Pricing
What resources cost, as priced by Hamilton AI
| Resource | Unit | Bits | USD |
|---|---|---|---|
| Verifiable CPU | per core-second | 17,581 bits | $0.00000686 |
| Verifiable GPU | per GPU-second | 649,915 bits | $0.00025347 |
| Verifiable Storage | per GB-second | 238 bits | $0.00000009 |
| Forever Storage (iBYTE) | flat | 23 bits | $0.00000001 |
| Verifiable Bandwidth | per GB | 252,820,513 bits | $0.0986 |
Paying without STORE
STORE's own materials describe supported non-STORE payment methods being converted to STORE for settlement (a "Convert Protocol," internally labeled MS-204) rather than bypassing the token entirely. This does not imply guaranteed token price appreciation — it's a settlement mechanism, not an investment mechanism.
